Breaking:NDLEA Arrests South African Woman with Alleged Heroin Consignment at Abuja Airport
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing fight against illicit drug trafficking with the arrest of a South African woman at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, over the alleged possession of heroin.
According to available reports, the suspect was apprehended by NDLEA operatives during routine passenger screening at the airport. Security officials reportedly became suspicious during the inspection process, leading to a thorough search that allegedly uncovered a quantity of heroin concealed in her belongings.
The woman was immediately taken into custody, while the suspected narcotics were seized as evidence. She is expected to undergo further interrogation as investigators work to determine the origin of the drugs, their intended destination, and whether the suspect is linked to a wider international drug trafficking network.
The NDLEA has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting drug cartels and protecting Nigeria from the dangers associated with illegal drug trade. The agency has also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support law enforcement by providing credible information that could help in the fight against drug-related crimes.
