BREAKING: ‘Political Differences Won’t Erase My Affection for You’ — Tinubu Celebrates Kwankwaso at 70
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on his 70th birthday, describing him as an influential figure and a progressive politician, while reaffirming their longstanding personal relationship despite political differences.
In a congratulatory statement personally signed on Wednesday, October 21, Tinubu reflected on his relationship with Kwankwaso, tracing their political association to their time in the National Assembly in 1992.
The President stressed that political disagreements would not diminish the affection and mutual respect he has for the former governor.
“Political differences won’t remove my affection for you,” Tinubu said, underscoring the enduring personal bond between the two politicians despite their differing political affiliations.
Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure and former presidential candidate, has remained influential in Nigerian politics, particularly in Kano State and the wider North-West region.
Tinubu’s message highlights the distinction between political rivalry and personal relationships, as the President celebrates a former political associate who has played a significant role in the country’s democratic journey.
The congratulatory message comes as Kwankwaso marks his 70th birthday, celebrating decades of involvement in Nigeria’s political landscape.
