Hon. Dolapo Adelana DOAF Celebrates Nigeria at 66, Reaffirms Hope for Peace, Unity and Progress
Hon. Dolapo Adelana DOAF, ADC Candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Oluyole Constituency, has joined Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora in celebrating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, describing October 1 as a significant day to reflect on the nation’s history, resilience and collective aspirations.
October 1, 1960, marked Nigeria’s independence from British colonial rule and the beginning of its journey as a sovereign nation. Since then, the country has continued to evolve through different political, economic and social phases, with generations of Nigerians contributing to its development.
In his Independence Day message, Hon. Adelana called on Nigerians to remember the sacrifices of the nation’s founding generation while remaining committed to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
The ADC candidate for Oluyole Constituency emphasized the importance of patriotism, responsible citizenship, unity and collective action in addressing the challenges confronting the nation.
He noted that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diverse population, abundant human resources and the determination of its citizens to create a better future.
Hon. Adelana also extended his goodwill to families, youths, workers, entrepreneurs, community leaders and all Nigerians celebrating the historic occasion, while expressing hope for greater opportunities and improved living conditions across the country.
He prayed for peace, security, economic prosperity and sustainable development in Nigeria, urging citizens to continue believing in the country and contributing positively to its growth.
According to him, Independence Day should serve not only as a moment of celebration but also as an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the journey so far and renew their commitment to nation-building.
He therefore wished Nigerians at home and abroad a peaceful and memorable Independence celebration.
“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. May our dear nation continue to grow in unity, peace, prosperity and greatness. May Nigeria fulfil its enormous potential and remain a land of opportunity for present and future generations.”
