INDEPENDENCE DAY: OYEDEJI URGES UNITY, COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AND COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
As Nigeria commemorates its Independence Day, Hon. Oyedeji Ifeoluwa has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, active community participation and collective responsibility as essential ingredients for national development.
In a goodwill message marking the nation’s independence anniversary, Oyedeji emphasized that the strength and progress of Nigeria begin at the grassroots, stressing the importance of building stronger and more united communities.
He urged community leaders, youth organizations, women’s groups, political groups, associations and party members to work together irrespective of their various affiliations, with a shared commitment to development and the wellbeing of their communities.
According to him, Independence Day provides an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the journey of the nation while renewing their commitment to peaceful coexistence, responsible citizenship and meaningful contributions to national growth.
Oyedeji also encouraged members of the communities to remain actively engaged in civic and political activities, while expressing support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli under the Allisoji Agenda.
He noted that communities have an important role to play in shaping the future of the country, emphasizing that collective participation can help strengthen grassroots development and create greater opportunities for citizens.
“Every voice matters. Every vote counts. Every community has a role to play,” he stated, urging Nigerians to continue working together toward peaceful, inclusive and sustainable development.
He further called for greater cooperation among community stakeholders, noting that unity and collective action can contribute to stronger communities and a more prosperous Nigeria.
As Nigerians celebrate the nation’s independence, Oyedeji urged citizens to look beyond political and social differences and focus on the shared responsibility of building a better future for present and coming generations.
He concluded by extending warm Independence Day greetings to Nigerians at home and abroad, while calling for continued unity, peace, development and responsible citizenship.
